Paper can be sexy.
Have you ever looked at big rolls of kraft paper and thought how nice it would be to make something out of them? Well, now you can check out “Green Porno"—a Sundance Channel mini-series focusing on the mating rituals of all kinds of creatures, big and small.
And before you say “ew” and skip over, consider taking a look at 3 wonderful seasons with Isabella Rossellini dressed as various creatures in creative costumes. Andy Byers, the production designer for the series, makes a wonderful use of the small budget, while making human sized flies, fish, mollusks and more out of...paper! Quirky and eccentric at first, each episode becomes more and more interesting.
But it’s not all in vein and just for beauty—by the 3rd season the show develops a strong environmental message and talks about the impact we, as humans, have on our surroundings. The best part about the show is that you learn, while being entertained, and it’s much more exciting than your BIO 101.
